The Friends of McNabs Island Society invite you to Discover McNabs Island at their 20th Anniversary celebrations. Learn to play quoits, the popular 18th century game played on McNabs Island long ago. Listen to ghost stories from the past.

More tickets will be available Friday, July 16th for the 9:30 - 2:30 and the 11:00 - 4:00 trips. Check with Ticket Atlantic or participating Superstores tomorrow.

Tickets will also be available at the Friends of McNabs table at Murphy's Cable Wharf Saturday morning.

Celebrate Canada’s Parks Day by visiting McNabs Island on July 17!

Departure Times: From Murphy’s on the Water, Halifax Waterfront

• Depart 9:30am, Return 2:30pm
• Depart 11am, Return 4pm
• Depart 12:30pm, Return 5:30pm
• Your ticket reserves a spot on the ferry for a specific time to/from McNabs Island and cannot be substituted for another time

Events include:

• the opening of the island's newly rebuilt trails,
• commemoration of the Sisters of Charity's work on the island in the 19th century,
• geocaching
• guided bird and nature walks
• history tours of Fort Ives and other historic places.
• Thomas Raddall’ s Hangman's Beach book tour
• children's scavenger hunt and games
• musical entertainment for all ages
• BBQ food & beverages catered by George & Lito’s Restaurant available for purchase. Bring your own drinking water.

Picnic Ticket: Only 300 tickets available!

• Ticket Prices: Adult $13 each / Children under 16 years $8 each
• Tickets subject to an additional $4 per order fee if ordered on-line.
• Limited number of tickets may be available for sale the day of the event (depending on availability).

Fall Foliage Tours of McNabs Island

Sunday October 17, 2010 (Rain date October 24)

10 am - 4:30 pm

Join the Friends of McNabs Island Society for the annual Fall Foliage Tour of McNabs Island Provincial Park . Tour includes a visit inside the historic island homes of "midway king" Bill Lynch and his family.

Location: Meet at Murphy's on the Water, Cable Wharf , Halifax Waterfront before 10 a.m. Cost: $10 (members and children) $12 (non-members).
